Who we are
Ps Jorge and Claudia El-Khouri started C3 Church Townsville as a humble home connect group in their own lounge room in 2007. Reaching out to their unsaved friends, their first connect group had a total attendance of only 3 people. They were Gabriela, Mikayla and Erica – their own daughters. But the calling is always greater than the apparent circumstances and challenges. And soon after their humble start, the group increased to size a little too large to manage inside their home.
On the 16th of September 2007, C3 Church Townsville was officially launched in IMAX Dome, where they have been operating ever since. That first service saw an attendance of about 40 people with one first time salvation. The church now boasts on a growing membership of about 100 people (at beginning of 2012) including a flourishing and committed core team.
C3 Church Townsville is a plant of C3 Church Mackay, where Senior Pastor John Gilbank has an oversight roll over the new pioneering church. Ps Jorge and Claudia are passionate for God, for people and for life. They strongly believe that effective faith in Jesus Christ and His accomplished work on the cross should enlarge every area of our lives – our thinking, our hearts, our visions and dreams for the future and our relationships. They also believe that a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ should always cause us to triumph through our challenges and experience a positive and significant influence on the lives and world around us.
